Job Description

Health and Safety Practitioner - 12 Months - Cheshire (Hybrid Working)JOB PURPOSEOur client are currently working on the definition and implementation of a Health and Safety improvement workstream focussing on all aspects of the way in which we manage and engage with our contractors / supply chain partners. The purpose of this job role is to provide all aspects of Health and Safety technical support to this improvement workstream both in terms of helping to identify and scope-out specific improvement opportunities and also in delivering their implementation. Someof the key areas being targeted include: - Lifecycle management and engagement with contractors / supply chain partners through onboarding, execution and offboarding. - Application of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015. - Induction, training and competence requirements. - Establishing and implementing baseline workplace standards and expectations. - Development of effective communication and engagement processes between the business and our contractors / supply chain partners. - Development of unified processes for a consistent single way of working. The improvements identified and delivered by this improvement workstream will need to be fit for purpose to meet regulatory requirements, whilst remaining user friendly and supporting the business and contactor / supply chain partner workforce in being ableto do the right thing. This can only be achieved through everyone understanding how things are done and who is accountable for what. An essential requirement for success will be a solution that drives a culture of collaboration and supportive working recognisingthat Urenco cannot succeed in delivering its strategy without our contract / supply chain partners.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES1. Working closely, and continually, with a wide range of stakeholders from across the business – including contractors / supply chain partners – to develop and implement Continual Improvement activities relating to contractor / supply chain partner managementand engagement. 2. Work as an influential part of the Transformation Team to share new ideas to improve contractor / supply chain partner management and engagement. Recommending, supporting and implementing Continual Improvement activities for a framework to optimise and enhanceboth the arrangements, systems and tools as well as the experience of those working on the Site. 3. Development of technical documentation (e.g. processes and procedures) as part of the implementation of Continual Improvement activities into the appropriate parts of the business management systems. 4. Facilitation of / input to various workshop sessions to support both planning and implementation of Continual Improvement activities associated with the improvement workstream. 5. Support benchmarking and market research to outline new solutions that will improve current and future contractor / supply chain partner management and engagement framework and all its requisite elements. 6. Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure an optimal framework is developed and implemented to maximise contractor / supply chain partner management and engagement for all parties JOB REQUIREMENTS(1) Health and Safety – An appropriate qualification relating to UK Health and Safety management (e.g. NEBOSH Certificate level) would be beneficial to the role but not essential for a candidate who demonstrates the appropriate behavioural and technical authoringskills. (2) Strong skills with spoken and written language and good analytical ability (GCSE or equivalent) English and Mathematics to grade C or above. • Excellent interpersonal skills. Proactive and effective engagement with a wide range of stakeholders will be a fundamental part of this role. • Demonstrable ability to produce high quality technical documentation (i.e. processes and procedures) in a pragmatic, effective, user-friendly format. • Stakeholder engagement – able to confidently interact at all levels of the organisation • Proactive – able to act on own initiative • Problem solving – able to clearly and concisely identify and problem and provide solutions • Facilitation – although formal facilitation experience is not essential, must have ability to influence alignment and delivery • Organisation skills – must have strong organisational skills • Good knowledge of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 and their practical implementation would be advantageous • Experience of working in an environment where there is close interaction with contractors / supply chain partners (in particular in a construction setting) would be advantageousHealth and Safety Practitioner - 12 Months - Cheshire (Hybrid Working)
