The position of Site Chemist involves inspecting and accepting incoming hazardous and non-hazardous waste assignments, adhering to regulations and site procedures. The candidate must hold a qualification in chemistry or biochemistry. The role offers a clearpathway for progression to a senior site chemist position. What Does The Role Look LikeOverall, the Site Chemist role involves inspecting and accepting waste, ensuring compliance with regulations and safety protocols, and contributing to a safe and environmentally conscious work environment. The position offers growth potential within the organization.You Should Have:* A HNC or Degree Level Qualification in Chemistry or a related field.* Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.* Decisions making skills, based on data, information, and evidence.* Displays natural leadership abilities in managing processes. * Demonstrates a willingness to work outdoors in hazardous chemical conditions.* Previous experience in the Waste Industry is advantageous.Key Responsibilities:* Verify all incoming waste consignments to have proper documentation.* Conduct safety checks for incoming waste, storage, and processing for compliance.* Perform regular waste sampling for analysis in the internal laboratory.* Ensure timely scanning of paperwork within 48 hours of arrival.* Manage proper storage of waste according to sector guidance and permits.* Process waste when necessary, including bulking, sorting, segregating, and repacking.* Report incidents, observations, and concerns through the escalation process.If this exciting opportunity feels right, then please click apply, or contact Sharan for more information. / Mandeville is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy.
