Job Description

The Merlin Partnership is seeking a Financial Director to lead the UK-based team and work with stakeholders in the US and UK. The successful candidate will have experience inbudgeting, cash flow management, commercial cost management, legal and audit, capitalplanning, and international operations.About the company:Merlin is a motorcycle clothing brand founded in 2011 by experienced senior executives in the motorcycle market. Despite being a new brand entrant, Merlin has progressed strongly in the past ten years, doubling in size every third or fourth year.The business has remained privately funded and has built growth through organic cash flows. Merlin is a well-managed and well-respected brand in the motorcycle market; the brand being built around four strategic pillars: protection in motion, progressiveinnovation, to be a benchmark brand for the best standard within the industry, and being a great place to work and a great way to live.The Role:Were seeking a Financial Director with a working horizon of 2030 and beyond to join our leadership team as FD to succeed our retiring FD. The role involves leading a UK-based team, as well as managing tax, audit, and legal stakeholders in the US. The successfulcandidate will likely have at least 15 years experience, a Chartered qualification, and experience working with external capital partners.The role is likely to be filled by a substantial No2 looking for their first No1 role or a current No1 seeking the equitybenefits this position and business affords.Merlin structurally operates in process like a manufacturer and a candidate who has production based experience will be able to adapt quickly to the current business environment.Key responsibilities include:

  • Taking a stable, profitable platform upward in scale to £30m+
  • Delivering monthly and annual financials on a timely accurate basis.
  • Managing an intricate cash flow plan.
  • Building the TMP Ltd financial structure upward in scale and scope.
  • Taking the business from the current financial IT to the next step.
  • Working closely and in depth with the supply chain team.
  • Ensuring the production modelled cost system is correctly maintained.
