Property Lawyer at Burnley Borough CouncilBurnley is a thriving market town surrounded by breath-taking Pennine countryside, with excellent transport links around the region, including a direct train line to Manchester. The town also boasts a strong connection with UCLAN, having its satellite site here.The Legal and Democratic Services team, led by Catherine Waudby, is a well-performing and collaborative function responsible for providing a wide range of legal support and guidance to the Council and a number of external partners. This role provides a greatopportunity to join the Legal team as a Property Lawyer on a permanent basis. In this role you will be responsible for providing a proactive, and high-quality service to all clients, whilst handling a broad portfolio of property related transactions.You will also have supervisory responsibility for the small Property team of two and will take the lead on the team’s caseload including sales and purchases of land, compulsory purchase orders, landlord and tenant matters and lease management.In order to be successful, you will be either be a qualified Solicitor; a Fellow of CILEx; or a Licensed Conveyancer.
