Job Description

Atkinson Moss is currently looking for a Part Time Finance Officer to join a charity.This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join the finance team at the company headquarters. As a Finance Officer you will support the finance team to provide a high level of operational and financial services across all locationsand areas of the charity.Main duties:Cash

  • Checking and banking of cash, postal order & cheque batches.
  • Input daily takings sheets.
  • Input donation envelopes onto spreadsheet.
  • Count & sort cash received and create batches on system.
  • Enter gift aid information/ scan onto system.
  • Issue petty cash.
  • Filing.
  • Cover for other members of the finance team when required.
P/L
  • Processing invoices received by email / post.
  • Inputting & matching purchase ledger invoices to the PO.
  • Supplier payment runs & emailing remittance advices.
The successful candidate will need to have an eye for detail and the ability to juggle priorities and have a willingness to tackle a variety of tasks with common sense and enthusiasm in a demanding environment.Excellent Excel skills are necessary and experience in cash handling, bank reconciliation, purchase order systems, would be desirable.Candidates must also be able to demonstrate that they have an understanding of the importance of confidentiality and data protection within the work environment.Experience and skills:
  • Good standard of education, at least 5 GCSE grade A-C, or equivalent.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and make sound decisions based on acquired knowledge and common sense.
  • Previous experience of working in a busy finance environment.
