Job Description

The Junior Accountant based in the firms Bromsgrove office will be expected to support the accounts team with preparation of Year End Accounts, delivery of personal and corporate tax compliance with involvement in wider services across VAT, bookkeeping,management accounts and other responsibilities. Your involvements with clients and technical responsibilities will increase over time as you develop within the team.Client DetailsBased in Bromsgrove, this innovative and modern Accountancy practice have made major jumps in their client growth over the last couple of years. With a broad and diverse client base, comes a need to expand their team in the form of a Junior Accountant. Youngand vibrant, this fun and friendly firm have a great staff retention record, and proven in-house progression routes.DescriptionThe Junior Accountant role is fast paced, reporting to the Senior Manager and occasionally the Partners. The roles includes but is not limited to, duties such as;

  • Prepare and review the financial journals: prepayments, accruals, depreciation, etc
  • Support the month-end processes, including monthly/quarterly balance sheet reconciliations ensuring all outstanding items are cleared, with full explanations on reconciling differences
  • Assisting with producing the budgets and forecasts
  • Completion of ad hoc financial accounting task
  • Ability to effectively manage your workload in a deadline driven environment
ProfileThe successful candidate will be;
  • AAT qualified
  • at least 3 years experience in practice
  • Self motivated and an independent worker
  • Looking to develop and progress within a growing firm
  • Team player and willing to help out in other areas if needed
