Job Description

Occupational Therapist - Hospital Team - Powys - £30 - £32 per hourWorking pattern: 37 hours over 5 working days, travelling can be flexible, (e.g., 3 days travelling, 2 days catching up on paperwork) This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our clients Hospital Team in Powys, Wales.The role will carry out functional assessments in hospitals, care homes and if necessary, in the persons own home. The nature of the work suits someone who is flexible, innovative, and confident in applying the single-handed approach.The service are also looking into establishing a trusted assessor role, where the successful Occupational Therapist would carry out non-complex discharge assessments and liaise with care homes for a swift discharge and completing the paperwork after.The benefits of this Occupational Therapist role:

Duties as an Occupational Therapist:
  • To use evidence-based principles to apply clinical skills and reasoning in occupational therapy, assessment, treatment planning, intervention and evaluation which include individual and group orientated approaches
  • To be a resource for the team, providing, occupational therapy professional guidance, and to lead on the evaluation and continued development of the occupational therapy service
  • Provide a client-centred occupational therapy service to a defined caseload of service users with complex needs, within the local services working with multi-disciplinary team members
  • Provide a high quality, efficient therapy service to patients with a wide range of physical and medical conditions
Essential requirements of this Occupational Therapist role:
  • You will be an HCPC registered Occupational Therapist with post qualified experience
  • You will be a pro-active learner and you will be supported in your development in this field
  • You will have strong communication and organisation skills, and a flexible approach will ensure you deliver positive experiences to patients at every stage of their healthcare journey.
