Estate Warden (12 Month FTC)Brecon, PowysAbout UsThe Brecon Beacons National Park Authority protects the natural beauty, wildlife, and cultural heritage of Brecon Beacons National Park.We are currently looking for an Estate Warden to join us on a full-time, 12 month fixed term contract, working 37 hours per week.The Benefits- Salary of £20,493 - £21,748 per annum- Pension- Offices based in one of the UKs most beautiful sites- 22 days holiday per annum (rising to 25 days after five years) plus eight public holidays and two extra statutory days- Help to protect an amazing landscape so it can be enjoyed for generations to comeThe RoleAs an Estate Warden, you will be responsible for carrying out practical works across a wide range of estate, woodland, rights of way and countryside for the Authority.You will take charge of temporary staff, trainees and volunteers, providing supervision, training and instruction to ensure safe working practices.Additionally, you will:- Deal with offences in the countryside- Provide support to the emergency services when requested- Care and maintain vehicles, plant, tools, equipment and personal protective clothing- Maintain accurate records of works carried out- Liaise with landowners, the public and other staff to support your work and the work of the AuthorityAbout YouTo join us as an Estate Warden, you will need:- Good practical countryside management skills- An awareness of conservation and recreation issues- The ability to communicate effectively and maintain records- Good numeracy skills- A basic understanding of the Welsh language- At a minimum, an NVQ Level 2 Landscape and Ecosystems qualifications- A full, valid driving licenceRelevant work experience in countryside management is desirable for this role, as is a basic knowledge of countryside and rights of way law.A chainsaw qualification, First Aid certificate, and/or Plant Operating certificate would also be favourable.Other organisations may call this role Warden, Park Warden, Park Ranger, National Park Ranger, Countryside Ranger, or Countryside Warden.The closing date for applications is 11am on 8th October 2021, with interviews scheduled for 14th October 2021.So, if youre seeking your next challenge as an Estate Warden, please apply via the button shown.
