Job Description

Trainee Financial AdviserOur client who is a well-established Independent Financial Adviser firm, situated on the outskirts of Leicester, with state-of-the-art offices, is looking for a personable, bright, and articulate individual to come on board as a Trainee Financial Adviser.Reporting directly to the Financial Planning Manager, your main duties will be to provide tailored Financial Planning Advice to the firms clients and converting incoming leads, which are generated through a combination of our ties with professional connectionsand from established lead generation companies.Covering a broad spectrum of advice, you will be given full paraplanning and administrative support from day one, provided by a highly experienced, professional back-office team.Our client is a friendly, family orientated company, full of hardworking people, who place clients at the centre of everything they do. This would be a fantastic opportunity for someone who is technically minded, with excellent interpersonal skills, lookingfor the security of a fully employed position, with the backing of a well-established firm to help develop their Financial Planning career.Previous advising experience isnt essential, but experience within a Financial Planning firm is desirable. To apply for this position, you will hold a minimum of the level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (awarded through the CII) and possess agenuine desire for career development.Duties and responsibilities for the Trainee Financial Adviser include:

  • Providing holistic Financial Advice, to both retail and business clients including responsibility for the preparation of supporting documentation.
  • Manage potentially complex cases, from inception to completion and find solutions to technical problems.
  • Regular engagement with new and existing clients via face-to-face, Zoom, telephone, email, and letter.
  • Management of your own workflows and tasks. Working on own initiative to achieve agreed outcomes set by the Financial Planning Manager and consistently meeting pre-agreed service levels.
  • You will need to be proficient in understanding and identifying possible client outcomes/solutions, derived from detailed information recorded in Know Your Client (KYC) documents; this will usually be compiled by yourself during client meetings and otherinformation gathering exercises.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail, able to adhere to quality compliance standards and deliver the highest level of client service.
  • Take a client focussed approach to all work, recognising the importance of client relationships and the need for excellence.
Skills and experience of the Trainee Financial Adviser:The ideal candidate will have:
  • Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning, with a strong level of technical knowledge and an ambition to continue studying towards Level 6 Chartered Status in the future.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, both written and verbal, with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook with the ability to quickly familiarise yourself with various systems, including our in-house back-office platform(Iress Adviser Office).
  • Some experience of working within a Financial Planning/Wealth Management firm.
  • First class time management skills with the ability to prioritise and organise own workload.
  • You will be driven and focused with the ability to complete large volumes of tasks under pressure and on time.
This is a full-time employed, office-based position, Monday-Friday.Our client offers a strong remuneration package, allowing for annual incremental salary increases, with leads provided, ongoing exam support, generous additional benefits, and a clear career progression structure, working in an environment designed to getthe very best out of you individually and as part of our Advising team.Applicants will need to be a well presented, professional and comfortable dealing with a wide range of clientele.Salary:
  • £25,000 - £35,000 per year (DOE).
  • The successful candidate will be expected to complete a 6-month probationary period.

Experience & Certification:

  • Full driving licence and use of a vehicle.
