Job Description

Job TitleSenior HVAC Engineer Employment TypeContract Estimated Duration- 12 months.This role has been deemed inside of IR35.LocationWarringtonThe OpportunityAn exciting new opportunity has come about to have the chance of working with a well-established engineering consultancy, specialising in the development of major projects across the UK and world driven by a workforce of ambitious nuclear experts spanning acrossthe UK and world. The need is for you as a Senior Ventilation Engineer is to provide your support to the design team through all project phases, focusing on the current validation of the single viable ventilation option. As a Senior Ventilation Engineer, youwill have the opportunity to work closely with the multidiscipline design and plant-based team to ensure successful project delivery.

  • As a Senior Ventilation Engineer, you will be required to deliver the ventilation and building services work scope, production and checking of design deliverables, reporting to a principal ventilation/ responsible engineer.
  • You will be required to guide and lead designers and engineers in the production of detail drawings, sub-assemblies, GA, layout drawings, flow diagrams and part lists.
  • You may be required to produce calculations to verify the detail design and design substantiation.
  • The production/ compiling of technical documentation (technical specifications, RA’s, installation methodology docs, O&M manuals etc will be required.
You will have the following qualifications & experience:
  • You will need experience of working within a highly regulated industry, ideally within the nuclear industry.
  • You will need to demonstrate recent experience of Alpha plant design and the decommissioning of redundant plant would be advantageous.
  • A good understanding of all the requirements associated with delivering ventilation designs within the nuclear sector.
  • Experience of the production of technical files.
  • Experience of "design for assembly" within a nuclear facility.
  • You will need experience in the production and development of nuclear ventilation plant layout.
  • You will be responsible for the production and checking of ventilation engineering calculations and deliverables.
  • Liaison with key stakeholders and other design disciplines.
  • Competent report writing skills: clearly and concisely reporting findings.
  • Comfortable working under time costs and constraints.
  • Candidate will need to manage their own workload and drive completion of the work scope.
  • The candidate will need to communicate effectively with team members and with the client.
It’s great if you also have the following:
  • Microsoft Office Packages, good understanding of 2D and 3D Autodesk CAD products.
