Offering a wide selection of services, we are the total waste partner to a variety of industry sectors.SHEQ Manager - The Role:Implement and maintain a single consistent management system and safety focused culture across multiple sites.Challenge the existing culture and operational approach to achieve best in class standards in Safety, Environmental and Quality performance across the business unit.SHEQ Manager - Key Responsibilities:

  • Take the lead for setting the strategic framework for the management of Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality standards and helping to maintain, update and improve the companys management systems
  • Ensure that all health and safety policies, procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to and are regularly reviewed, updated and communicated
  • Implement a consistent management system across multiple sites compliant to the standards of ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001
  • Ensure compliance with our Environmental Permit
  • Review of on site near misses / incidents in order to establish and implement learning and best practices
  • Advise the department managers on the RIDDOR Regulations and report incidents on behalf of the site
  • Develop and oversee an audit program to include review of procedures and risk assessments
  • Undertake audits and inspections of contractors and working practices to ensure a safe working environment
  • Act as Enva SHEQ representative during construction and project works (CDM)
  • Establish additional performance metrics to measure and drive improvement / change
  • Coaching and development of SHEQ Coordinators to establish a sustainable multi skilled SHEQ team structure
  • Keep up to date with all aspects of relevant health, safety and welfare at work legislation and communicate relevant changes and impact on the business
  • Be a key member of the management team supporting wider strategy discussions
  • Knowledge, Training, Experience, Technical and Personal Skills:Required
  • Experience and knowledge in incident investigation and root causal analysis
  • Evidence of practical audit/inspection experience
  • Good people manager
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop effective and positive working relationships within and outside of the department
  • Highly focused on delivering results and objectives with a strong personal commitment to supporting the business in achieving its goals in a changing environment
  • Logical in approach with the ability to analyse data and formulate action plans
  • Must demonstrate high levels of integrity and adopt a professional approach in all interactions - should be transparent, open and honest in all dealings
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent)
  • Qualified Auditor of one or all: ISO9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS18001
  • Managed ISO9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS18001 (or integrated equivalent) management systems
  • Experience of behavioural safety / culture change
  • Experience of managing / implementing change control processes
  • Strong PC and technical knowledge and skills with a good working knowledge of the Microsoft packages including Word and Excel
  • Degree level qualified (or equivalent)
  • Desirable
  • NEBOSH Diploma
  • Experience working within waste industry most desirable, however, alternate industries (manufacturing, oil, gas, fuel, food) with relevant experience will be considered
  • Experience of delivering training to personnel of all levels
