Job Description

Via currently has a fantastic opportunity to join our Fleet Team as a Fleet Mechanic based at our Head Office in Bilsthorpe, NottinghamThe successful candidate will be joining a team who provide maintenance, inspection, repair and testing of vehicles and plant.About the role:As a Fleet Mechanic you will repair, maintain, inspect, and test a wide range of vehicles and plant. You will ensure customers are billed correctly, legal requirements are documented, and paperwork is completed correctly. You will inspect and prepare HGV& PSV vehicles to MOT, attend vehicle and plant breakdowns reported by internal & external customers and comply with relevant health, safety and environmental legislation ensuring a safe working environment.You will complete daily checks of vehicles and plant, recording legal requirements and reporting any damages or defects found. You will work as a relief chargehand as and when required to support supervisors with the efficient running of the service.Candidate Requirements:

  • Qualified Mechanic to NVQ level 3 or equivalent in motor vehicle engineering.
  • DVSA MOT tester qualification for class 4/5 & 7
  • Full UK driving licence (Cat C desirable)
  • Practical experience of working in a busy Fleet workshop environment on a wide range of vehicles or plant to agreed manufacturer and internal standards.
  • Ability to use specialist vehicle and plant fault diagnostic test equipment
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation and practices applicable to a workshop environment
  • Motivated and self-driven and capable working within a team to tight deadlines
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills with a good standard of written and verbal communications.
  • Ability to keep up with industry standards updating knowledge and skills.
