Job Description

Offering a wide selection of services, we are the total waste partner to a variety of industry sectors.Payroll Clerk - The Role:Facilitation and payment of weekly payroll through use of third-party processing operation.Ensuring that the appropriate controls are in place to review and verify all related payments, including PAYE, Pensions, deductions.Submission of government returns not necessarily restricted to payroll.Payroll Clerk - Key Responsibilities:

  • Collation and review of departmental weekly returns
  • Inputting, uploading and processing of payroll data
  • Weekly submission to processing house
  • Receive back, verify resultant output
  • Generate employee payments
  • Ensure all new starters, leavers and changes are accurately reflected in timely manner
  • Generate all other payroll related payments
  • Reconcile all payroll accounts for review
  • To identify and resolve any payroll discrepancies in timely manner
  • Ensuring the immediate investigation and resolution of queries/issues
  • Maintain rolling records for average earnings and holiday pay calculations
  • Generate monthly payroll cost journal
  • Produce regular and Ad hoc payroll cost reports
  • HMRC and other government returns as required
  • Other general assistance as required
  • Knowledge, Training, Experience, Technical and Personal Skills:
  • Previous experience in payroll
  • Ability to keep strict confidentiality at all times
  • Proven ability to work remotely
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skillsExcellent numerical skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to handle large amounts of information
  • Positive and motivated
  • Problem solving and solution focussed ability

  • A flexible attitude to the team’s work, including a willingness to reprioritise and undertake additional tasks if required
  • Confident in dealing with customers / suppliers over the phone and on email
  • Strong PC and technical knowledge and skills with a good working knowledge of the Microsoft packages including Word, Excel and Teams
