EIV operates 7 days a week, 7 am to 7 pm responding to 999/111 calls in a specially designed ambulance. This is a unique role for a band 6 Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist offering the opportunity of working with an experienced Senior Emergency Medical Technician. With the EIV team you will use your skills and knowledge to provide targeted therapy assessments to prevent unnecessary admissions into hospital and to support patients with a frailty crisis, ensuring they get the right care, at the right time and in the right place.The EIV team provide offer full therapeutic assessment, provision of equipment or onward referral to support patients to safely remain in their own home. The role also includes attending potentially life-saving category one calls, if the EIV is the closest resource, and provision is in place to ensure timely support, supervision and debriefs.EIV is an incredibly supportive team and in 2018 won East Coast Community Healthcares Innovation Award.ECCH is a Staff-led Social Enterprise with a strong learning culture. To be able to work in in this specialised role you will need to meet an already established competency framework.
