Job Description

Procurement ManagerCambridge£60,00040 hours per weekWe are currently seeking a Procurement Manager to join our Fibre Optics clients to be based in their head office in Cambridge.Key Duties

  • Identify and negotiate with suppliers to procure specified quality at best possible price
  • Responsible for Purchase Order process, procurement follows agreed policy, and all record keeping completed in an accurate and timely manner
  • Proactively propose improvements to Procurement and Stock Management processes
  • Work with Yard Manager to ensure that materials are available with forecast usage date and that stock values do not exceed group targets
  • Manage Procurement strategy to support the achievement of Group working capital targets
  • Work with the HSEQ department to further develop the companys procurement strategy, in compliance with best practice
  • Develop and supply a suite of management reports
  • IT literate
  • Strong negotiation skills coupled with a genuine hunger to get the best value for the company
Experience required
  • Experience of using Purchase Order software
  • Knowledge of fibre optic network materials
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • CIPS qualified
  • Knowledge of civils materials commonly used in the installation of fibre optic networks
  • Successful in building high performing teams
