Job Description

Childrens Residential Support Worker– (Aged 8 - 18 years old, Autism, Village near Cambridge) needed!I am currently working with a fantastic residential school on an exciting new Childrens Residential Support Worker role that is located on the outskirts of Cambridge area.Starting from or as soon as possible, the school are looking for two dedicated Childrens Residential Support Workerto join them on a permanent basis.The School:

  • Graded Good by Ofsted for many years
  • Cater for primary, secondary and post 16 aged children
  • Specialise in children with autismand/or aspergers syndrome
  • Have a wealth of resources available to both students and staff
The Role (Childrens Residential Support Worker):
  • Supporting children within the school and residential setting
  • 2 week rota (1st week 7am-4pm supporting in school) (2nd week 2.30pm-10.30pm supporting in residential setting)
  • Working Monday to Friday term time only (Every second Friday off!)
  • Responsible for supporting with childrens education as well as social and emotional development
  • Supervise children off-site for desired activities (bowling, cinema, sports etc.)
  • You will benefit from first class relevant training
What you will need:
  • Work or personal experience supporting children or vulnerable adults
  • A positive and proactive approach to work
  • Able to build quick rapport with children and staff
  • An understanding of special needs would be beneficial but NOT essential
  • Happy working as part of a team and supporting on a 1 to 1 basis
  • Enhanced DBS check (we can provide this)
