Job Description

Calling all vibrant and forward-thinking HR Advisors. We have created a new role to support the two International businesses within the Commercial Services Group (CSG). Working as the HR partner for CES and KCS International in this fast-paced role will require a high level of business savvy people management expertise to drive our businesses forward.CES provides a complete service for the supply of educational resources to international schools worldwide and is the market leader in this specialized field. Working with suppliers and publishers from the UK, USA, Europe, and Australia to offer customers an unparalleled selection of books, classroom equipment, classroom resources, and furniture - all available from a single source.Operating since 1980 CES have built up expertise in dealing with schools in over 120 countries, offering customers a comprehensive procurement package specifically tailored to their individual needs.In 2020 CES was acquired by Commercial Services Trading Ltd and forms part of KCS - a market leading education supplies brand wholly owned by Kent County Council.KCS is an international market leader of education resources and services, wholly owned by Kent County Council.Supporting customers for more than 90 years, KCS operates a multi-brand strategy with interests across school supplies, frameworks, fleet, print, recruitment, early years resources, export, and school development projects.KCS are passionate about providing expert advice and first-class service to more than 7,000 active customers daily.Based in Greater Manchester to enable close local support to the businesses with some travel to Kent where the Group is based you will have responsibility for providing generalist HR advice to senior managers and staff regarding the full employee life-cycle including resourcing, all aspects of employee relations, guidance on terms and conditions and the application of HR policy and processes. To support business capability and succession planning you will also undertake L&D administration; and if it is an interest area - you can become involved with course delivery. You will also have the opportunity to use your HR skills and knowledge in developing and implementing new HR projects and initiatives.Ideally, you will be a CIPD graduate member (or working towards), with existing experience in a generalist HR role. Pragmatic, approachable, and self-starting are essential skills as well as your ability to build rapport and communicate in an engaging and effective way with all stakeholders.You will also be flexible, have a good eye for detail and be ready to work in a busy and varied role in a fast-paced environment. You will also recognise that good HR practice is a source of competitive advantage (providing it is good practice not same’ practice).The place of work will normally be at the CES offices in Greater Manchester. In light of the COVID-19 outbreak, where the possible staff is working remotely from home.
