LOCATION OF WORK: Due to covid-19 you will be working fully remotely initially. Once things return to normal a mixture of onsite in Manchester and remote working can be offered.HOURS OF WORK: 36 hours per weekTHE ROLE:An established electronics business in East Manchester, who design and manufacture a wide range of handheld monitoring and measurement devices require a Software Application Engineer to join its R&D team.As technology has developed and the devices have become IoT connected, there is a need to develop desktop and mobile applications which wirelessly connect to the devices.With the business having a wide portfolio of devices (which is continuing to grow) there is the need for a second Software Applications Engineer to join the team. You will be working closely with Electronic Engineers, Embedded Software Engineers and a fellow Software Application Engineer, who is able to offer you lots of insightful product knowledge and support.In this role you will develop applications for desktop and mobile (both iOS and Android).If you have experience developing applications which support physical electronic/ embedded software products this would be highly desirable, but a basic understanding of electronics or embedded software products will otherwise be fine.The applications you will be developing will connect to the devices via RF wireless communication protocols, such as BLE, Bluetooth, Cellular or WiFi. Experience working on applications which connect using wireless communications would be highly advantageous.This role offers you the opportunity to work on a nice wide range of different applications which support physical electronic devices. The work is interesting, varied and stimulating, which will continuously keep you challenged and will allow you to advance and develop your skill set.SKILLS REQUIRED:
