Job Description

A speciality chemical manufacturing organisation are looking for a compliance officer to manage the quality, health & safety, environmental (QHSE) and REACH regulations within the business. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to further develop yourregulatory skills within a chemical industry.To be successful you should hold a degree in a relevant discipline, chemistry, chemical engineering, or other related field, possess experience in a REACH, compliance or regulatory role and ideally have previous experience working in an industrial laboratory.Compliance officer areas of responsibility:

ISO 45001 and QUALITY
- Maintaining IMS System and Manual.
- Internal Audits.
- Heading Annual external Audits.
- Liaising with Consultants.

HEALTH & SAFETY
- Risk Assessment Management
- Liaising with advisor/consultant.
- Accident & Near Miss Investigation.
- Principle Member of Fire safety team.
- H&S Committee.

ENVIRONMENTAL
- Liaising with Environment Agency.
- Environmental IPPC reports.
- Investigate and Environmental Incidents on site.

PRODUCT MSDS & LABELLING
- Formulating and updating Via in house software.

EU and UK REACH
- SIEFF members communication.
- Updates on product and Raw Material Status.
- REACH Activities under advice from specialist
- OTHER WORLD REACH type activities.

Compliance officer skills & requirements:

Hold a degree in a relevant discipline, chemistry, chemical engineering, or other related field
Possess experience in a REACH, compliance, or regulatory role.
Knowledge of ISO45001 & ISO9001.
NEBOSH qualification would be highly advantageous.
Previous experience working in an industrial laboratory would be highly advantageous.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000Benefits: 20 days + banks + one for every years service after the first year - Pension up to 6% matched - attendance based bonus scheme.Location: ManchesterRole: Full time, permanent - 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday
