Job Description

Position: Social Worker, Safeguarding leadLocation: Ashley, Market DraytonHours: Part time, 22hrs across 2/3 daysSalary Details: £18.57phAt Eldertree Lodge, we are looking for a Social Worker- Safeguarding lead to join our team.Coveberry, part of the CareTech family are a leading specialist healthcare provider, with hospitals and centres throughout England and Scotland, delivering wide-ranging services in Adult Mental Health, Learning Disabilities, specialist brain injury, child and adult mental health services (CAMHS) including eating disorders, and social care for children with special needs.Our aspiration is to nurture the world, one person at a time and that is why everything we do is designed to provide the best care and recovery for our patients and residents.Roles and Responsibilities:

  • To provide specialist social work advice to the MDT with respect to assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of patients within the service; particularly where social care issues appear prominent.
  • To contribute to the multidisciplinary care plan through ensuring that social work input is assured from the responsible agencies, co- working with colleagues to achieve identified patient outcomes.
  • To contribute to ongoing risk assessment, risk management and risk reduction in relation to individual patients.
  • To provide a social work perspective and advice relating to aftercare services as patients move through the care pathway.
  • To contribute expert advice to the MDT planning the care pathway to the community.
  • To ensure that links are initiated and maintained by Social Workers representing the responsible Local Authority and that appropriate individuals attend CPA meetings and reports are provided for MHRT’s.
  • To support safeguarding investigations and offer expertise to the Designated Safeguarding Lead and/or investigating officers.
  • To undertake other appropriate tasks and duties as delegated by the Hospital Management, Clinical Team, Medical Director and Head of Therapies.
  • Keep up to date with Hospital policies, procedures, and changes within relevant legislation and maintain professional registration and development.
  • Adopt a professional approach to patient / resident care at all times
  • Be required to develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues, visitors, carers, members of the multi-disciplinary care team and senior professional and managerial staff.
  • Conform at all times to the Policies and Procedures of the Company, with particular regard to confidentiality, financial and administrative responsibilities and prevention of healthcare-associated infection (HCAI); this includes a requirement for rigorous and consistent compliance with policies for hand hygiene, use of personal protective equipment and safe disposals of sharps (where deemed relevant to the role).
  • Maintain and support all quality initiatives and objectives introduced into the organisation.
  • To be familiar and comply with the service Business Continuity Plan in case of an emergency.
  • Take personal responsibility for ensuring that resources are used efficiently and with minimum wastage
  • Have access to a wide range of confidential information about patients and staff which must not be divulged to any unauthorised person in any circumstances at any time in accordance with the Company’s policies and procedures in relation Information Governance and the Data Protection Act 2018 and General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
  • Who we are!Eldertree Lodge is a locked rehabilitation Mental Health Hospital that provides specialist assessments, treatments and rehabilitation for adults with intellectual disabilities, mental health needs, autistic spectrum disorders, including those with varying degrees of challenging behaviours and forensic histories.
