What its like to work here You would be joining ambitious Ranger and Project Teams, who are working to break the hard lines between monocultured habitats, softening edges and creating a more mosaiced, and dynamic landscape. This includes the planting of trees, encouraging speciesrich grassland and trailing techniques to slow water flows and reconnect watercourses with their floodplains. It is important that people are at the heart of what we do, so that they can share in, and benefit from the transformative nature gains that we will be making. As our ambition grows, we will actively work with, and be led by communities to create incredibleoutdoor experiences for all.If you want to be part of a dynamic and forward-thinking team, who care about creating abundant and diverse habitats, and who inspire, challenge and supports each other, then we would like to hear from you.For more information about our property please visit days-out/regionsouthwest/devon What youll be doing The main thrust of this role will focus upon developing and delivering an exciting and sustainable monitoring and survey programme, which forms part of our Landscape Recovery Scheme. Additionally, and working with Project Managers and our Wildlife Advisor, you will be responsible for undertaking the surveys necessary to ensure enrolment in new initiatives such as Biodiversity Net Gain and the WoodlandCarbon Code. You will be recording your findings systematically, developing survey plans and programmes, and utilising your data to draw conclusions; exploring how our changing management is impacting habitats. As a senior member of the Ranger Team, you will take on a leadership role within the group. Helping to, support more junior members, organise the team’s weekly planning, and when needed, pitching in with regular estate work. You will enjoy working with otherpeople, and have a thirst for leadership and teamwork, which you will champion and encourage within the rest of the group. You will be a model for our values and behaviours, setting standards for others to emulate.Working with people and connecting withdiverse communities will form part of your role, involving members of the public through your monitoring programme and spreading the word about our exciting nature recovery work. As such, you will engage your creative spirit to organise and run ad-hoc days, which excites people from across the social spectrum to connect with nature. Additionally, and in support of your monitoring work, you will recruit, grow, and manage a core group of volunteers. This will include setting a regular volunteering schedule andoverseeing their day-to-day needs.
