Job Description

Multi-skilled Maintenance Technician Full time and permanent - mainly morning/day shift Ansty - Coventry Hours: - Monday - Friday 6am - 2:15pm OR 7am - 3:30pmOne week in four you will work 14:00 to 22:30 - Monday to Thursday13:000 to 19:15 - FridaySalary - £39,000 - £41,000About the role:We have an exciting opportunity for a two Multiskilled Maintenance Technicians to join FTSE 250 International company who specialise in components and sub-systems for the Aerospace, Defence and Energy markets. My Client provide Engine Systemsincluding Flow Control, Thermal Systems, Engine Composites and Engine Sensors for both Civil and Defense Aerospace Customers. This is working at a state of the art facility which was only opened two years ago, working with a great and well established team.You will be responsible for the preventative and reactive maintenance of CNC equipment as well as conventional machines. You will work with a team of maintenance engineers to ensure all repairs are carried out to keep the production moving and ensuring allhealth & safety measures are adhered to.Using your experience as a Maintenance Engineer/Technician you will: -

  • Make corrective mechanical and/or electrical repairs to plant and equipment for which appropriate training has been undertaken, aiming to return equipment to an acceptable condition, capable of the highest standards of performance possible subject to equipmentage, condition and previous operation/maintenance.
  • Manage day to day operations of the maintenance stores. Ensure suitable stock levels are maintained to reflect the companys requirements, monitor inventory levels and liaise with purchasing/procurement to provide an effective service.
  • Carry out condition based maintenance on the companys compressors and driers and liaise with sub-contract personnel in their remit to conduct proactive maintenance as directed.
  • Liaise with 3rd party personnel to monitor the continued operation of the sites fire suppression systems and report/record any faults found. Liaise with sub-contract personnel to maintain the plant and ensure that the company and its employees continueto remain adequately protected.
  • Carry out procedural inspections to monitor and record the condition and/or operation of a variety of plant and machinery directly related to directive permits/consents to operate and ensure continuous legislative compliance.
  • Ensure highest priority is given to safety and well-being of operators, maintenance personnel or any 3rd party in the vicinity, during equipment maintenance, using appropriate tooling.
  • Implement planned corrective maintenance in a scheduled equipment shutdown situation, with the aim of restoring equipment to full operational condition, and undertake planned preventive maintenance on plant and equipment, making use of any suitable diagnosticand predictive techniques to aid maintenance.
  • Support cell operations by providing any agreed preparation and training in first line maintenance procedures.
  • Provide an installation and refurbishment service for plant equipment and buildings as required to facilitate the continual improvement of company assets.
  • Promote continuous improvement in overall plant operations by reducing downtime wherever possible on repeated breakdowns, by monitoring and refining 1st line maintenance schedules and preventive maintenance schedules, by understanding and acting on measuresof performance.
  • Prepared to attend training courses as reasonably requested.
  • Operate under verbal and written instructions from Maintenance Team Leader. Also responsible to resident production supervision as required by working patterns.
  • Prepared to work either on own or within a team as situation dictates. Need ability to listen and communicate effectively at all levels

  • Mechanical bias would be an advantage for this role
  • Machine tool fitting would be advantageous
  • Ability to read and understand schematics
  • A service engineer background will also be considered
  • A keenness and willingness to learn
