Job Description

Early Years Practitioner - BirminghamREED Education is currently supporting a Primary School who are looking to appoint an Early Years Practitioner to join as soon as possible.An Early Years Practitioner works closely with under 5 year olds ensuring that their day to day needs are met. You will assist in many aspects of the childrens daily lives through social, emotional, educational and practical interaction. You willresponsible for delivering a high standard of learning and development. You will ensure that children are always safe by providing a safe, caring but also a stimulating educational environment.Some of the daily duties will include but not be limited to;

  • To deliver an appropriate play based Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum that enables children to make individual progress
  • to provide a safe, caring stimulating educational environment both indoors and outdoors at all times.
  • To plan activities which ensure each child is working towards the early learning outcomes
  • To ensure assessments are set
  • To work in collaboration with other professionals for the benefit of children and families
  • To have a thorough understanding of safeguarding and child protection laws
This is a role where no two days will be the same. You will be an integral part of the young childrens lives but you will also develop a very close knit and important relationship with parents and guardians.To be successful for this role you must;
  • Hold a level 3 qualification or equivalent
  • Have previous experience of working with children aged 0-5.
  • Understand the Early Years curriculum
  • Have knowledge of the National Standards for the regulations of Childcare provision
  • Have a commitment to the provision of high-quality childcare
  • Have excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Be able to empathise with children, parents, and colleagues
  • Have an enhanced child workforce DBS on the update service or be willing to pay £38 for a new check to be done.
