Job Description

Are you a dynamic individual who wants to grow and develop in a company thats revolutionising retailDo you have proven Sales and Account Management experience within the Wine & Spirits sectorAre you WSET qualified and have a genuine desire to develop your experience within the Wine industryIf you have answered yes to these questions, Majestic Wine would be delighted to hear from you!The RoleThe National Sales team at Majestic Commercial handles large and complex accounts ranging from contract caterers, large national retailers, media agencies and professional services firms.Reporting directly to the Chief Commercial Officer, as Majestic Wines Head of National Sales you will be responsible for owning the P&L and driving the growth strategy for this part of our business. This individual will manage sales & account performancethrough their team, as well as personally providing high-level input to key accounts as required. Working with the business Central Operations team, they will ensure the smooth-running of National Sales accounts, ensuring that Majestic consistently providesthe excellent service our customers depend on.Key Responsibilities:

  • Full responsibility for your accounts P&L and day-day account management through your team
  • Develop and deliver growth strategies which build on existing successes to grow Majestics National Sales
  • Build solid plans to meet and exceed targets for revenue, margin and profitability
  • Lead by example, winning key accounts and providing an example of best practice
  • Lead a high performing central Commercial team, ensuring all team members are set up for success and have the support required to meet and exceed their targets
  • Coach and manage your team to deliver exceptional post-sale customer service, ensuring Majestic Commercial consistently delights its customers
  • Working with the Operations team, ensure that we fulfil our promises on delivery SLAs and never let our customers down
  • Provide accurate forecasts for National Sales, working with Finance and Operations to construct robust budgets
  • As part of the Commercial Leadership Team, demonstrate engaging and inspirational leadership to the wider Commercial team. Attend weekly trading meetings and monthly board meetings, contributing to the strategy and direction of the business
Knowledge & Skills Required:
  • Minimum of 6 years Sales and Account Management experience within the Wine & Spirits sector.
  • WSET qualified or a genuine desire to develop your experience within the Wine industry
  • Entrepreneurial styleable to make things happen, a flexible and creative approach to finding winning solutions
  • The successful candidate will need to have a proven track record of exceeding targets, drive to provide best-in-class service and a passion for our products.
  • A proven track record in sales and account management, with the ability to exceed targets both personally and through a team.
  • Experience of managing a sales P&L and forecasting for existing and new business.
  • An understanding of the intricacies of the on-trade drinks market and a solid wine knowledge are essential, as is a passion for the food and drink industry.
  • Commercially experiencedused to analysing & interpreting Data, understanding of P&L, Range reviews, Forecasting
  • Understanding and successful negotiation of major contracts
  • Strong business and strategic acumen
  • Analytical and numerate with good attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and persuasive skills are essential for this role.
  • You will have strong relationship building skills and be highly articulate and proactive, able to think strategically, deliver complex messages and manage expectations effectively.
  • Computer literate with a working knowledge of Word, Excel, Powerpoint. Experience with G-suite would also be an advantage.
