Job Description

Packaging Coating Chemist required on a permanent, based in Yorkshire. Requiring a degree in Chemistry or Polymer Science with proven industrial experience of biopolymers and/or barrier coatings including formulating and applications testing.Title: Packaging Coating ChemistLocation: YorkshireSalary: £35,000 - £55,000 per annum (dependent on experience)Term: PermanentSRG are currently working with a company who manufacture speciality chemicals in Yorkshire who are looking to hire a new Packaging Coating Chemist to join their technical team. This role will include being involved in the development, formulation and re-formulationof packaging coatings, as well as developing test methods for testing the applications of such products.Role / Description

  • Support in the development of new and existing products across a range of packaging coatings
  • Develop new and existing test methods to support in formulation improvement and application testing
  • Provide technical support for formulation product technical enquiries from customers and commercial team
  • Liaise with suppliers to achieve best performance of raw materials
  • Liaise with appropriate development, supply chain and production teams to support in the scale up and manufacturing of products
Requirements
  • Degree preferred in Chemistry, Polymer Science or similar
  • Proven industrial experience of formulating and applications testing of packaging coatings
  • Self-motivated and pro-active, with a willingness to learn
  • Good problem-solving and communication skills
  • Good attention to detail and able to manage own projects
