Job Description

Howdens Joinery are looking for a Junior Application Delivery Engineer based within our Raunds, Northamptonshire or Croxley, Watford offices. This role is within the Trade & Digital Application Delivery Team, who build and maintain our Trade and Digitalinternal systems.What you will be doing as a Junior Application Delivery Engineer:

  • Ensure the smooth operation and continuation of service of our core trade and digital applications
  • Ensuring any application issues are resolved as efficiently as possible.
What will I be doing as a Junior Application Delivery Engineer
  • You will need to be service focussed, with the desire to deliver first class service to our colleagues and be dedicated to improving our processes through automation, innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Your key tasks will be responding to production incidents, driving recovery and mitigation, and ensuring agreed levels of support are maintained and delivered to the Howden user community
  • You will also, where possible, address small change requests that can be completed within a short amount of time.
  • This is the perfect opportunity for a junior support professional, who wants to expand their technical knowledge and looking for an opportunity to grow within a nurturing environment.
Howdens work to a SAFe methodology , and portfolio teams actively work to Program Increments using Azure DevOps.Key Skills and Experience Required:
  • Ideally educated to A Level or BTEC level, ideally in an IT discipline.
  • Excellent written communication skills are necessary for this role, along with the ability to work well as part of a team.
  • You will have good problem solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail to allow you to identify the problem and apply an acceptable resolution.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Operating Systems (desktop & Server - Windows 10), Office365 and SharePoint.
  • Experience of working in a software development environment.
  • Strong understanding of website infrastructure (Web app servers, Caching services, Job servers, indexing, APIs / microservices)
  • Awareness of Source control: Azure DevOps / Git
