Our client is a well-established international freight forwarder who are now looking for an experienced Freight Forwarding Business Development Manager to join their growing Northern branch in the freight forwarding Sales divisionFor over 150 years my client has been handling export and import shipping requirements throughout Europe and Worldwide. Their reputation is based on their caring, customer focused service and competitive pricingYour role will involve selling and promoting a freight forwarding multi modal service air and sea freight service, selling FCL/LCL and groupage services. Managing the complete sales cycle from identifying prospective clients, making your own appointments,visiting clients to sell and promote an air and sea import and export services worldwide The company can supply the candidate with existing sales leads but having contacts of your own would be an advantage.Covering the North of the UK, Yorkshire, North East & North West.In order to apply for this freight sales role, you will ideally be selling a multi modal freight forwarding service although we are welcoming candidates who have sold only one mode as long as this is sea or air freight. You will be self-motivatedand sales driven with a proven track record in sales. You will possess excellent market knowledge in freight forwarding and good negotiation and closing skillsYou will have a good standard of education, a strong work ethic and an enthusiastic nature. The ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a thriving team is essential.
