Job Description

Production Team LeaderThe Recruitment Crowd have recently partnered with a market leading client! We are recruiting for a permanent Production Team Leader.Salary: £27,000 - £30,000 doeHours: Monday-Friday 6am-2pm and 2pm-10pm rotating weekly with early finish Fridays!Location: LeedsJob Type: PermThe RoleTo lead your team across all production areas ensuring all products are manufactured to meet the safest way to the required standards as efficiently as possible.Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to your team by setting and achieving high professional behaviours and standards, ensuring that all team members know what is always required of them including targets to be met.
  • Lead by example in all areas of production, creating a culture of Health, Safety, Quality and Continuous Improvement with a focus on production, efficiency and operational excellence.
  • Provide high levels of professionalism at all times, ensuring that the companys procedures are followed and that any issues are reported.
  • Lead the Daily Management System with your team, ensuring that KPIs are up to date, discussed and understood and that any losses or issues are reported, acted upon and escalated where necessary.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and operator accountability within your team, maintaining best practice in all areas and ensuring that your team are given regular opportunities to contribute to ideas for improvement and feel heard when issuesare raised.
  • Ensure we have the right people in the right places at the right time to meet the business needs and develop a professional high performing team through skills acquisition and competency sign off, identifying and highlighting opportunities for
  • Responsible for effective team performance management, this includes conducting regular 1:1 Personal Development Review meetings, setting and reviewing realistic and achievable objectives, supporting and guiding your team to drive individual and team growthand development.
  • Liaise with Production Manager and HR Manager to ensure that any grievance and disciplinary issues are managed correctly, and the right procedures are followed.
  • Monitor absence levels and conduct Return to Work Interviews to understand the reason for absence, and what support is required to minimise the impact on business operations.
  • Lead and assist in your own team Focussed Improvement Projects or as part of a wider Converting Management Team, to realise opportunities for optimisation of production processes.
  • Actively work with the Management Team to develop and train out management systems, processes, including Standard Operating Procedures, Cleaning and Maintenance Schedules and Layered Process Audits.
  • Ensure the team are fully aware of wider business strategy and vision and news and feel involved and a contributor for achievement of business goals.
  • Insist our customers always receive the best quality products by ensuring that all pre, during and post product checks are performed, and that any substandard production is reviewed to understand the root cause of the issue and resolution found to preventa reoccurrence
  • To maintain the smooth running of production through pro-active engagement with other departments
Experience / Requirements
  • Manufacturing background working in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience of leading a shift team and developing people to the highest standard
  • Evidence of working with and upholding SOPs
  • Evidence of driving process improvements
  • Understanding of Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality Management policies, systems and requirements
  • Naturally a problem solver - solutions oriented
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Strong numeracy skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written English
