A family-run manufacturing company in Birmingham (Yardley) is seeking a Transport Planner to join their team on a permanent basis working ,12:00 - 20:30 or 13:30 - 22:00, Monday - Friday. The company has been operating in the industry for nearly 50 years.The Transport Planner will be responsible for various tasks related to planning and coordinating transportation activities.Responsibilities of a Transport Planner:* Plan and coordinate the utilization of all vehicles to ensure timely collections and deliveries.* Prioritize and change routes as necessary.* Develop, monitor, and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to service delivery and customer requirements.* Establish and maintain good relations with drivers through detailed pre and post debriefs.* Handle telephone inquiries from customers, drivers, and colleagues.Requirements of a Transport Planner:* Previous experience working as a Transport Planner is essential.* Strong geographical knowledge of the UK is essential.* Strong IT skills are required for this role.* Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with individuals at all levels of the business.* Previous experience in the logistics sector is essential.The position of Transport Planner offers a permanent contract and a salary ranging from £25,000 to £30,000 per annum.
