Our client, a prominent Financial Services / Banking Organisation, is looking for a Cost Accountant to join the teamReporting to the Head of FP&A, this is an important role within their Financial Planning division to lead the management, analysis and control of the Banks overall cost base and transformation spend.You would driving commercial insight and a disciplined approach to cost optimisation and investment decisions by understanding and keeping abreast of developments within the Bank, the financial services sector and other organisations.You will business partner the key areas of the Bank, providing insight, challenge and analytical support for divisional strategic initiatives, including technology transformation. You will lead the team to ensure a first-class experience, enabling seniorleaders to make informed commercial decisions, manage their expense budgets and drive agreed efficiency savings.Responsibilities:Lead the preparation of the financial cost forecasts for the Bank under a range of scenarios.Prepare slides for Board and Exec level reporting to explain the Banks cost position and movements from prior forecasts.Maintain and develop the planning cost models to ensure that the process is as efficient as possible.Develop the cost allocation process so that full product profitability analysis can be enhanced.Business partner the key areas of the Bank and provide insight, challenge and analytical support.Perform monthly cost reviews to understand variances to plan and reflect the latest assumptions in any revised forecast.Liaise closely with the Procurement team to ensure that best value is achieved with new suppliers.Engage with the project team on new product launches to provide support on the costings for each product and will also extend to supplier meetings to help optimise outcomes and challenge costings.Post product launch, partner with other departments, steer product performance accordingly and adjust business levers to deliver the agreed plan cost numbers.Skills and experience:A qualified accountant - ACA, ACAS, ACCA, CIMADetailed knowledge of the operating costs and associated drivers of the economics of a financial services product.Proactive in providing financial and commercial insight and challenge to other areas of the business.Prior knowledge of a cost planning process desirable.Comfortable working independently for long periodsSelf-motivator with strong planning and organisational skills.Strong communication and presentation skills including to Executive LevelStrong analytical skills and attention to detail.Continual improvement mind-set to challenge existing processes.Ability to demonstrate strong personal development skills.
