Experienced Buyer (Engineering)Derbyshire£30,000INTRODUCTIONAs one of the East Midlands more established engineering companies, with a proven track record in providing advanced engineered solutions to the power generation, cement, steel, aggregates and petrochemical industries, my client has a fantastic pedigree.Due to a period of significant and sustainable growth they are now looking to build their team and take the company into the next phase in their development and to ensure that they are able to continue to service their customers engineering needs and developproducts for new industries.THE ROLEAs an experienced Buyer you will: Manage procurement requirements for engineering projects, services and day to day operational needs of the business Identify and engage appropriate suppliers and effectively manage the relationships Maintain documentation to support the import and export side of the business Identify and record cost savings and supplier performance in line with quality controls, establishing a vendor-rating scheme. Implement long term agreements with suppliers and manage these appropriately Managing the half yearly stock controlTHE PERSONIn order to be considered for this Experienced Buyer role it is expected that you will have: At least 2 years real world experience in a similar procurement / buying role - ideally within an engineering environment Preferably relevant qualifications (CIPS or MCIPS) or significant relevant experience Global sourcing knowledge and experience An ability to work with a range of Engineers Solid abilities with MS Excel, including formulas and macros Confident communication skills; face to face, via the written word and on the phone Experience of Strategic Sourcing and an ability to analyse and recommend strategic approaches Supplier management experience in order to improve quality and cost Proven experience of working closely with internal and external Customers An ability to manage multiple projects at any one time, whilst maintaining the necessary documentationTHE REWARDSIn addition to working with a well-respected employer in a fantastic environment, you will be rewarded with;
