Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Monitoring Devices - £40K-50K - DerbyshireA leading company specialising in monitoring devices within the water, gas, and electricity utility sector is looking to bring on a senior mechanical design engineer to join their growing team in the Derbyshire area, in this role you will be developing theirproducts, from initial concept through to production.Main duties: + Leading the mechanical design of new products, from initial concept through to production+ Help modify existing products as well as introducing new products+ To conduct various forms of product testing as required (stress, thermal, pressure testing)+ Generate 2D/3D technical drawings, BOMs and product assembly instruction manuals+ Interacting with customers and suppliers+ Assisting and mentoring of junior engineersKey Skills required:+ Over 5 years experience designing enclosures, sensors, control systems, or any form of electro-mechanical casings+ 2D and 3D CAD experience, ideally in Solid Edge+ Mechanical analysis experience+ Strong manufacturing experience in plastic injection moulding+ Design for manufacture experience+ Strong material knowledge+ Tolerance analysis+ The ideal candidate will have experience in designing products to environmental and ATEX certification standardsThe salary will be between £40,000 to £50,000, with the company able to offer more for exceptional candidates.
