Job Description

The Recruitment are recruiting for a Purchasing & Planning Manager to join our client based in WinsfordThe position is direct permanent with our clientDuties

  • The Purchasing & Planning Manager is responsible for overseeing all activities relating to the procurement operation.
  • Purchase of raw materials to ensure smooth and cost-effective production flow and inventory control.
  • Identify potential suppliers, develop relationships with them and obtain market information to enable purchasing to be of the best value for the company
  • Support improvements to the supply chain i.e. supplier, specification, pricing, delivery and terms
  • Provide analysis of purchasing trends, reports/statistics on spending and saving v budget to Senior Management
  • Ensure all areas of procurement are covered by negotiated contracts and ensure purchasing expenditure remains under control
  • Lead on the implementation of new procurement, planning and inventory management processes
  • Develop & manage demand planning processes and accurate forecasting
  • Ensure that all incoming materials are delivered in line with the demand planning forecast
  • Responsible for running a small department
  • Undertake other tasks that maybe reasonably required by the business
  • Full ownership of production plan, working closely with production teams to ensure agility across plantRequired Qualifications & Experience:
  • CIPS qualifications are desirable but not essential
  • Qualified to degree level or qualified by experience
  • ERP experience & supply chain management in a time critical manufacturing environment
  • Commercial awareness and strong numeracy skills with a natural flair for error checking
  • Professional, confident, dependable & persistent negotiation Comprehensive production/capacity planning knowledge gained within a Manufacturing environment.
  • Procurement and strong negotiation skills
  • Proactive & professional supplier negotiation to improve component availability & cost
