Job Description

  • Youll be a vital part of the KTS global team of experts who design, commission and support licence plants for numerous global clients in polyester, polyurethane, nylon and several other innovative technologies.
  • Youll be leading global programs that span the KTS business portfolio across the entire project lifecycle - from planning and construction to commissioning and start-up. Youll stretch your problem-solving and project management skills and travel to meetclients in Asia, Europe, and the Americas.
  • When youre not travelling, youll be based in the Wilton Centre, on Teesside, once the headquarters of ICI. This is a genuine centre of expertise, and KTS is one of the regions most successful, well-reputed businesses.
  • Youll be a visible part of a standalone UK company that employs over 100 people but with the added security of being part of Koch Industries - one of the planets largest privately-owned businesses.
What you can addOne of a handful of project managers in the Engineering Team, your role is to lead licence projects, ensuring excellent customer service and meeting compliance and time and cost requirements.That starts in the sales phase, supporting the Licensing Manager on the scope of the technical proposal and interacting with clients to assure them that projects will be executed smoothly. From there, youll develop strategies, workflow, schedules and costestimates and identify key risks (both technical and commercial).Next comes the challenge of leading the project through to successful completion. This is where youll call on your experience leading and motivating multi-functional teams to deliver similar (petro)chemical projects.Youll need to convince us you can build successful relationships with contractors and clients and confidently manage multiple interfaces, whether internal stakeholders or technology experts in different countries and cultures. Here, youll call on versatilecommunication skills in English, whether in person or online and plenty of emotional intelligence - KTS has a respectful, influencing culture, not a directive one.Youre willing to engage with some pretty technical process technology too. Youre a technically capable engineer (with a degree to back that up) - someone who enjoys the technical challenge as much as they enjoy the team management side of things.Personally, youll need to fit in with KTS guiding principles, which help the company to innovate, improve and transform. Qualities like humility, integrity and respect are essential here, allied with the intellectual curiosity to creatively solve problemsand help others succeed.Were open-minded about your background - possibly oil and gas, chemical processing or working with a manufacturer. What matters is that you have experience delivering multi-stage projects across the entire lifecycle.The role will be predominately based at the Wilton Centre, Redcar, with a flexible working model.
