Monitored and controlled from our central operations facility in Solihull, these flexible assetsdeliver electricity to the national grid, helping to balance the UK energy system and ensure reliable power for homes and businesses.RoleReporting to the Head of Maintenance UKThis role will manage and lead the SEUK maintenance planning department. Ensuring all planning and scheduling activities are undertaken safely in alignment with best practice. Utilising best available planning techniques, whilst also ensuring opportunitiesare identified to continuingly improve the department.Manage a multi-discipline planning department that takes accountability for all planned, predictive and corrective maintenance activities, with the requirement to manage small scale projects as a when required. Nurture and develop the team to deliver a safe,reliable and efficient service.Effectively manage the planning stages of all preventative maintenance activities to ensure compliance is maintained at all times with regards to current legislation (PSSR, LOLER, DSEAR, SIL, Environmental). Driving performance against departmental KPIs.Designated SAP super user for the UK maintenance department, playing a key role in the development of the team to ensure the CMMS system is fully utilised.Key Responsibilities

  • Positively encourage a culture of safety first.
  • Manage a team of maintenance planners and schedulers ensuring all performance measures are in place to drive safe performance.
  • Overall accountability to create and communicate the maintenance schedules to the UK business.
  • Take ownership of budgets relating to the SEUK planning department.
  • Ensure harmonisation of planning activities across the Wilton site and flex assets.
  • Ensure optimised utilisation of all available maintenance resource.
  • Actively monitor new and/or developing best practice planning techniques and adopt were possible.
  • Ensure weekly plan attainment reports are created to monitor performance and identify bottlenecks.
  • Ensure relevant information is collated in readiness for the monthly maintenance dashboard.
  • Support the work order gatekeeping process to ensure the requests received in respect to work orders are suitable and sufficient.
  • Overall accountability to the ensure maintenance planning backlog of work orders are managed within agreed KPIs.
  • Run the required reports with the CMMS system, interrogate data to identify trends and areas which require attention.
  • Ensure maintenance planners create detailed job packs for each individual work order (resource requirements, RAMS, drawings, spares, SOP’s, tools, BOM’s)
  • Chair weekly planning meeting with relevant departments (Operations, Engineering, and Day work controller).
  • Stand in for UK head of maintenance when required.
  • Manage planning team holidays to ensure continuity of the resource from within the planning department.
  • Seek opportunities to affect cost savings.
  • Perform a post-mortem review of the work performed.
  • Follow-up on the gaps between "actuals v’s estimated" and correct if needed.
  • Implement and maintain the planning/scheduling guidelines.
  • Conduct weekly schedule review meetings.
Essential
  • Technical background, preferably time served.
  • Proficient in P6.
  • Relevant planning skills. (Planning and scheduling)
  • Experience of managing/leading teams.
  • Proficient with the use of CMMS - Preferable SAP
  • Ability to read and understand drawings.
  • Understanding of best practice planning and scheduling techniques
  • Good HSE awareness.
  • Contractor management skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Enhanced IT skills (Microsoft project, word etc).
  • Basic leadership qualities.
  • Credibility with peers, operations/Eng team and contractors.
  • High concern for standards (HSE, trade skills and commercial etc).
  • Proactive with a high level of self-motivation.
