We have a fantastic opportunity to work with a global leader within the manufacturing industry. We are looking for a Pilot Plant Technician on a long-term ongoing basis for our client based at Wilton.Principle accountabilities* To operate the Alpha MMA pilot plant according to plant and site instructions, always ensuring safe and effective operation of the facility in its role as testing ground for technology development projects* Sample, analyse, interpret and act upon results of analysis of process streams, according to a published analytical schedule * Carry out problem solving, repair and modification of process equipment to maintain a high level of equipment availability* Understand site procedures and always conduct work according to these * Fill in paper logbooks, and computerised record systems as required * Ensure full and complete handover of current operational status, to relieving shift team * Prepare relevant sections of the process for maintenance, using isolation and decontamination procedures, and issue and control a permit to work system* Installation and maintenance of mini-scale equipment (install modifications) * Operate other mini and micro scale plant in the TDA area at The Wilton Centre from time-to-time as required * Carry out analysis in the laboratory including GC analysis along with titrimetric analysis, working in the lab and operating the plant reactors and distillation columns* Provide emergency response first aid, within the scope of biannual refresher trainingSpecial features and requirements * This is a shift job, in a 24/7 operational environment working two x 12-hour days and two x 12-hour nights, and then four days off* This is an annually rolling ongoing contract* Three to four weeks holiday will need to be taken during the summer and two weeks at Christmas time when the plant is shutdown* Ideally you will be qualified to at least NVQ Level 3 in process operations and have some years experience in an operations environment. Time to full effectiveness is typically six months.* You will have a good understanding of the Alpha MMA process, in order to understand the importance and impact of results, and be able to prioritise activities where necessaryIf you would like to be considered for the role of Pilot Plant Technician, please submit your CV.
