Job Description

Jackson Hogg is delighted to be supporting with the appointment of a highly exprerienced Mechanical Engineer, to provide mechanical expertise in ensuring continuous and safe operation of a sustainable biorefinery facility to produce bioethanol. Reportingto the Engineering Manager, you will be the primary contact for all mechanical issues across the plant, resolving queries and issues around planned preventative maintenance and leading the team to ensure all work is carried out in accordance to current legislationand guidelines. Experience working on top tier COMAH sites required.Responsibilities:

  • Act as the lead mechanical engineer in all mechanical breakdowns returning plant equipment back to service in a safe and timely manner.
  • Act as the lead task owner for all activities undertaken - RA, SMS, SWP, Permits acceptance, inductions, fed into plan, scheduled, support. Scaffs/lagger requirement identified etc.
  • Active involvement with the safety committee, promoting and improving health and safety standards and ensuring H&S auditing is undertaken and recorded correctly.
  • Assist with Route Cause Analysis sessions when required,
  • Act as the Site Main Controller (SMC) on rota with others
  • Holiday cover for the Reliability Engineer
  • Ensure financial commitments made on behalf of the company are fully owned.
  • Provide mechanical engineering support to all areas of the plant.
  • Liaise with contractors and suppliers where appropriate.
  • Ensuring current valid contracts are fit for purpose and updated on the database.
Requirements:
  • Education: HNC qualification as a minimum, Degree qualified in BEng (Hons) level or equivalent preferred
  • At least 5 years experience working in a similar industry
  • Experience working on a top tier COMAH site
  • Computer literate (MS office)
  • Competent in Pemac, Sabisu, Temporary Repair Register, Axiom Database for Statutory Inspections
