Job Description

The Recruitment Co are in search of a Production Supervisor to join an expanding wholesale food supplier in the Manchester area.You will be responsible for the daily operation of a designated area, managing a small team within an FMCG environment.Permanent Opportunity as a Production SupervisorFood Production Line: Bread Department within the warehouseLocation: Whitefield, Manchester M45Hours for Production Supervisor;12 hour shifts4 on 4 offDays and Nights6-6,7-7,8-8 - Must be flexible to work all the shiftsSalary for an Experienced Production Supervisor: £32,000 annuallyProduction Supervisor Responsibilities;

  • Leadership of team members within the factory, responsible for the full range of line management activities including, Training, development, discipline, communications, absence control, team leadership, motivation, materials, and direct labour within budget.
  • Achieving and beating line KPIs on a shift by shift basis and provision of accurate information within timescales to support this for effective decision making.
  • Authority to suspend production at any time if any of the above conditions are being compromised and refers to the relevant Manager if the issue cannot be solved within agreed timescales.
  • Quality conscious: ensure full (operator) compliance with company quality and food safety systems (process control, HACCP, giveaway checks, PPE etc.) so that product is produced within specification and in a food safe way that meets customer requirements.Manage deviations, with appropriate QA support.
  • Cost critical: meet cost standards by being cost critical on waste, giveaway, total labour numbers, output rates and people productivity. Identify and, in conjunction with the OBP lead, pursue cost improvement opportunities through the Operating BrillianceProgramme.
Requirements for a Production Supervisor;
  • Experience in managing people including leading a team
  • Proven experience as a manufacturing supervisor
  • Have worked in a process FMCG environment
  • Can demonstrate a sound understanding of the manufacturing process
