Job Description

Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust have an excellent opportunity for a Band 6 Specialist Occupational Therapist starting in December 2020.The post is based within our Secure and Specialist Learning Disability division at Whalley; the service provides inpatient assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for men and women with a learning disability and/or autism. Through the Occupational Therapy holistic approach and appropriate assessments, you will be able to take on the exciting challenge of supporting a small complex case load in their own dedicated environments. This post provides the therapist with an opportunity to improve individual’s quality of life, support a sensory and meaningful informed day and work with a great MDT made up of Nursing, Doctors, Social workers, Speech and Language Therapists, a Sensory Integration Practitioner and Psychology.The successful individual will need to be enthusiastic, passionate, adaptable and highly motivated, with a keen interest in learning disability and/or autism.
