Working with a market leading manufacturer, Premier Work Support have a fantastic opportunity for a Lead Engineer to work at a flagship site in West Molesey. The role of the Lead Engineer is to support and deliver product designs to meet project requirements, and be responsible for production engineering at the clients site; delivered through a combination of an involved hands-on approach with the ability to manage the engineering teamRequirements:Bachelors degree (BS), HND, HNC (or Professional Engineer (PE) certificate) in engineering or a science technical discipline.Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through more than 5 years of related experience. Prior management/supervisory or project engineering responsibility of 2-3 years preferred.Has thorough knowledge of the technical engineering discipline or domain, and products or systems. Understands and is fully proficient with project management, engineering documentation requirements, and engineering analysis tools. Ability to apply knowledge of program management, the product development cycle, and understanding of cost accounting principles and methods.Experience with program and design reviews and/or other customer requirements and industry practices.Ability to foster teamwork and inclusion with diverse groups of employees. Ability to guide and develop the team by providing challenging assignments and through effective coaching, feedback, recognition, and skill assessment and training.Thorough knowledge of industry and regulatory standards, policies, and compliance requirements.Ability to effectively communicate and present status, actions, recommendations, and other technical information with clarity and precision. Maintains open communication within the team and other business areas. Ability to respond to significant inquiries from customers, regulatory agencies, or marketing/sales teams. Duties include:Design and develop products in line with requirements and ensure they comply with the relevant/latest regulations.Develop product architecture.Evaluate and improve the efficiency of product design, systems, machinery and components.Apply knowledge of design, testing methods, for different systems.Understand design specifications and technical drawings Assure product quality by conducting thorough and reliable tests.Research/test manufacturing methods and materials Use computer-assisted engineering and design software to create technical plans.Support day to day operational requirements.Monitor products and improve on future designs.Ensure products meet UKCA & CE design directives, legislative requirements and specifications.Plan and execute projects within timescales and budgets.Support profitable growth and operational excellence.Responsibility for developing and introducing new technologies, products and/or processes to achieve profitable growth.Maintain a high degree of customer service, productivity, quality, cost reduction and engagement of people.Manage the development of the Technical team.Ensure the production facility can deliver the required output.This is a permanent opportunity and the salary will be between £45,000 - £55,000, depending on experience.
