Job Description

Higher Performance Analyst - Band C - Local Ops - Counter Terrorism Policing SO15£42,232 to £50,385 plus a Location allowance of £1,841. You will receive £42,232 the band minimum. Progress to the band maximum of £50,385 will be via incremental progression.Location: West BromptonJob SummaryAs part of Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) SO15 within Local Operations, you’ll work on some of the most important and high-profile CTP investigations around.As a Higher Performance Analyst, you’ll be joining the team that’s responsible for providing data & statistical analysis work for CTP in London and beyond. Together with your expert colleagues, you’ll analyse and interpret a wide range of information tocreate meaningful reports that senior leaders will use to make the right decisions.Day to day, you’ll access trends in data, forecast future implications and identify areas of good and bad performance. This work will bring you into contact with many stakeholders.At this level, you’ll need strong IT skills to work with a variety of packages such as Excel and Tableau.Besides the rewarding nature of the job itself, a competitive salary and a Civil Service pension, youll also benefit from excellent career and professional development.Key Responsibilities

  • To support the SO15 Head of PREVENT in implementing a coordinated approach to performance and insight across London.
  • To design, refine and implement performance reporting across PREVENT in line with strategic objectives, in order to inform decision makers regarding London PREVENT performance.
  • To undertake and supervise qualitative and quantitative analytical products that identify trend and forecast future implications and identify areas of good and poor performance.
  • Deliver informative analytical products for a range of senior decision makers and practitioners within the CT Policing, Frontline Policing, strategic partners and Local Government.
  • To work closely with and support Policy Leads providing performance advice and mechanisms to measure the delivery of strategic objectives as well as drawing out key performance related points for incorporation in to strategic briefings.
  • To undertake inspection of data and performance regimes across the PREVENT strand.
  • To support the collection of consistent, comparable information against set standards and guidance and to drive continuous improvement across the PREVENT.
  • To present information through databases and dashboards, at different protective classification, to different audiences.
  • Ensuring that products and documentation within Local Operations remit comply with MPS policies and any legal obligations such as FOIA and the Data Protection Act.
  • Manage customer relationships and requests in relation to ad hoc and regular reporting.
  • Managing own workload, tasking appropriately and escalating requests within the team when appropriate.
  • Work with performance practitioners across the CT Network, partner agencies and subject matter experts to enhance performance indicators and assessments.
