Job Description

This is an interim opportunity for an experienced Field Engineer to work with Counter Terrorism Police and will be responsible for conducting and facilitating installations for Projects as well as assisting other various high profile areas of the business.Key Tasks:Below outlines the expected responsibilities the post holder will be required to carry out, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Installation, Migration & Decommissioning
  • Desktop Implementation, moves and upgrades of divergent ICT systems
  • Assistance with Datacentres
  • Assistance with Servers and SAN Equipment
  • Support Services
  • First to Third Line Support on all services, as and when required
  • Live Installation, Migration and Decommissioning Support
  • Potential for some Remote Site working with occasional nights out
    • Experience - Essential
  • Experience of working on large scale Business Change and IT enabled Transformation Programmes
  • DV (Strap) security clearance to operate in CT Policing environment and with partners
  • Experience in National/International Network Deployments
  • Experience of Large Scale Networks, their Designs and Installations, including:
  • Network deployments, concepts and best practice
  • Routers
  • Switches
  • Security; separation and segregation
  • Cryptography Hardware and Material and a clear understanding of the requirements of its handling, installation and maintenance
  • Structured Cabling such as Cat5-7 Cabling, SMF/MMF, MTP/MTO and its Secure installation concepts and best practices
    • Please Note: This role is deemed INSIDE IR35.
