Field Service EngineerBased in Wellington, SomersetA National company within the Waste and Recycling Industry is looking for a self-motivated, local engineer who is willing to travel for servicing, callouts and installation of equipment.We are looking for a professional and hardworking individual to join our engineering team providing nationwide support. You must be self-motivated and willing to travel for servicing, callouts and installation of equipment. You will need to proactivelymanage existing relationships on-site and react positively to sudden changes in work schedules and priorities.Job RoleYou will be working on an extensive range of recycling equipment, from standalone machines to full plant installs, including; Balers, Compactors, Screw Compactors, Screw Presses, Separators, Shredders, Conveyors and Digestion Systems. You will besupporting all engineering stages of; machine builds and refurbishments, new installations, customer training, servicing and call-outs.Electrical and mechanical fault-finding experience is essential for the role, with a working knowledge of hydraulics, electrics, conveyors, motors and gearboxes required. While recycling industry experience is preferable, we can provide machine specifictraining, so is not essential.You must be confident, well-presented and professional on site as you will be the face of the service department for new and existing customers. Health and safety compliance is vital.All site attendances will require comprehensive call out/installation and training reports completed with further attendances recommended as necessary.When not travelling to customer sites, you will be based in the workshop carrying out machine refurbishments on both customer equipment and used machines for re-sale.Person SpecificationThe successful applicant will have completed a relevant engineering apprenticeship and/or be qualified to NVQ level 3.Electrical and fault-finding experience is essential for the role.Proven experience within a similar role would be desirable but not essential. Well-presented and professionalAbility to fully complete site report sheetsGood communication skills as this will be a customer facing roleComfortable in covering a broad area which may include staying away as required and working alone but with strong office & technical support. Preferably a knowledge of recycling equipment, but not essentialOther Information you need to knowHours - 8.00 to 16.30electrical and mechanical back ground but electrical is most important out of the two, therefore Level 3 would be preferable plus experience.If you havent a background / knowledge in recycling equipment then an Agriculture engineer would be a good backgroundVan, mobile and uniform all providedNational role therefore any overnight stays all have accommodation, food and drink covered by the companyOVERTIME: 16.30 to 19.00 normal time, after 19.00 and Saturdays (not often required) its x 1.5 and x2 on a Sunday (again not often)How many holidays -Circa £30,000 - £32,000 per annum depending on experienceBenefits:Company pension30 days incl bank holidays plus their holiday year runs from April 1st 2022 to include days between Christmas and new year.
