Job Description

Working with this large not for profit organisation who are currently recruiting for a part qualified management accountant for an 18 month fixed term contract.It’s an exciting time to join this company due to a recent restructure of the finance department. This is a newly created position and an employer of choice who will consider experienced management accountants and those currently working at the assistant level.You will perform a range of tasks that will be varied and also project based as they look to procure and implement a new finance system during this period.Main duties will include month end reconciliations and forecasting, analysis of spend, researching funding and income opportunities and supporting the Finance Managers.Other duties include:

  • Process journals to ensure the fixed assets balance is up to date and accurate
  • Providing day to day business partnering
  • Support the Finance Manager team to create the annual budgets
  • Research particular topics and complete project based work for the finance team
  • Complete internal audit spot checks for finance related processes; providing reports to management and Audit Committee.
  • Process journals as required to ensure ledgers are accurate
  • Research income streams and provide guidance notes to maximise income
  • Create financial forecasts against budget for a number of academies/entities
  • Support with monitoring performance against budget, forecasting and reporting. Informing key management of the risks and opportunities.
  • Provide financial information for the Procurement Officer to support procurement activities
  • Support the creation and implementation of a day to day purchasing strategy with the Finance Director and other central colleagues
  • Complete tasks to support the implementation of a new Finance system as required
  • Support the Deputy Finance Director and Assistant Financial Controller with any tasks related to financial control areas such as VAT, tax, payroll etc.
  • Support the Deputy Finance Director to manage cashflow, researching available investments
  • Create, update and implement Financial Operating Procedures
  • The ideal candidate
  • Part qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA (AAT level 4 will also be considered)
  • Experienced with monthly management accounts
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Hard working, flexible and robust.
  • Positive attitude and able to promote a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Flexible – will need to work across different locations.
  • Hold a driving licence and have access to a vehicle
