Job Description

Blueprint Recruitment has a brilliant new opportunity for a Labatory Supervisor to join an international Environmental Company on a permanent basis. This role requires presence at the Walsall site 5 days per week to work on a variety of scientific projectssurrounding hazardous waste and chemicals.This exciting opportunity provides the successful candidate with the chance to collaborate with experienced, Maintenance Engineers, Site Chemists, Consultants and Chempac Engineers. Our client operates in a variety of sectors, including Water, Pharmaceutical,Oil and gas, Transport, Defence and Chemical.Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide adequate and appropriate training to ensure the Laboratory has sufficient resources
  • Participate in the site/facility EMS and QHS meetings, actively promoting environmental awareness and Health and safety standards
  • Ensure all incoming and outgoing waste streams, including residues are analysed for compliance (site acceptance criteria)
  • Provide treatment instructions and lists to plant operatives and ensure packaged waste is processed efficiently to remain compliant
  • Capture and ensure that deviations against operating criteria are promptly notified and detail remedial actions
  • Ensure all analytical test results are fully traceable to instrumentation calibration standards
Key Requirements:
  • Knowledge of COMAH / MAH if preferable.
  • Degree in a science-based discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of quality, health/ safety and environmental systems.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills .
  • Previous experience in waste management or chemical processing.
