Job Description

Our client, an international Freight Forwarding Company, are currently seeking an Export Customs Clerk for their team based in Wales.As the Export Customs Clerk, you will deal with the export process from start-to-finish, handling all shipments via Road and Sea Freight.You will be taking bookings, arranging collections and deliveries, and checking manifests once received.Other duties as the Export Customs Clerk:

  • Receiving pre-alerts from overseas agents
  • Advising customs of the arrival of cargo
  • Send load lists to agents
  • Receiving and checking relevant documentation and passing on to shipping lines
  • Negotiating rates with shipping companies
  • Creating files both manually and on the computer system - preparing documentation, i.e. Bills of Lading
  • Liaising with overseas agents / customers / hauliers
  • Dealing with quotations and charging files
  • Passing purchase invoices and dealing with any queries
