Job Description

Our client SHB Vehicle Hire are currently searching for a HGV (heavy good?s vehicle) Mechanic for their busy Depot in Manchester.The main responsibilities in this role will be the maintenance and repair HGV?s and their wide range of fleet.Other Duties:

  • Demonstrating good diagnosis skills.
  • Complying with Depot specific health and safety rules and regulations and ensuring the correct PPE is worn/used throughout and reporting any failings through the reporting procedure and to the appropriate SHB manager.
  • Ensuring all paperwork is completed correctly, legible and handed in on time.
  • Maintaining a clean and tidy work area and ensuring all tooling and specialist equipment is checked, tested and compliant in line with company policy.
  • Maintaining sufficient security measures.
  • Repair and maintenance of a fleet of vehicles
  • Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy
  • Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems
  • Diagnose faults and malfunctions
  • Repair and maintenance of: electrical systems, alignments, steering and suspension, hydraulic systems, cooling and heating systems and drive train components
  • Perform scheduled maintenance services
  • Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts
  • Road tests vehicles when required
  • Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner
  • Must be willing and able to work overtime when required
  • Essential Skills include? Mechanical or electrical qualifications? A minimum of one year?s commercial experience working as a Vehicle Technician? Full driving license?
