If you offer excellent customer service skills and are a qualified Lifeguard, or willing to gain qualification, this is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the smooth running of a first-class sports centre.Uppingham School Sports Centre (USSC) is a fully dual-use facility and used by 1,300 public members as well as the School. Described by Lord Coe at its opening as world class, USSC has been designed to provide state-of-the-art sporting facilities for theschools pupils, as well as allowing access to local residents, sports clubs and other schools.You will be the first point of contact within the sports centre for pupils, staff and the general public, greeting visitors in a friendly, helpful and courteous manner. Our Leisure Assistants are also trained lifeguards who will hold a National Pool Lifeguardqualification to ensure the safety of all our users. This qualification can be gained during employment.Your key responsibilities will include:Making sure the centre is kept safe, clean and tidy at all timesMaintaining cover of the swimming pool area and providing a high level of customer service to all membersUndertaking general lifeguarding duties and ensuring the pool is never left unattended whilst in useExperience of working in a leisure centre environment is desirable but not essential.The average working hours are 9.25 hours per week, including evenings and weekends.
