And to take care of your physical and mental well-being, weve invested in extensive paid sick leave, trained mental health first aiders on-site, an employee advice service and access to gymsin some stations.Sound interesting Look and see how you can help us make a difference.What youll doIf you join TeamNP you will become part of the fast-paced, customer-focused Communications Centre, based at either Ponteland or South Shields working closely with the Contact Handlers to ensure the Communications Department plays its role in helping theforce deliver an outstanding service.You will be responsible for identifying and allocating the appropriate resources to incidents, manage several incidents simultaneously, responding to officer needs, requests and monitor open incidents.You will use the information provided to assess the threat, harm, and risk in line with updated intelligence.You must be able to quickly understand large amounts of information from a variety of sources, including radio transmissions, telephone calls, and databases and task and direct resources effectively and efficiently. The ability to reassess information asa situation develops confidentially managing any changes to ensure the correct result.You will be confident in your decision making and at times must challenge situations to ensure the correct response.You will understand our force priorities and the role in which you play to ensure these are met.What youll bringThis is an extremely challenging role, and it is essential that you have the following skills: Excellent communication skills The ability to negotiate and influence The confidence to assess and challenge information Exceptional IT Skills The ability to multi-task in challenging circumstances An aptitude for problem solving The ability to work alone and/or as part of a team The ability to remain focused and calm when under pressure The drive to deliver outstanding service Agile, receptive and positive when faced with changes in the workplace.
