Job Description

The CompanyWe have a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious Bench Joiner/ Furniture Maker to thrive and develop their skills in a growing company as part of our next chapter. Our client are a rapidly growing manufacturer and online retailer.They’re looking for a Bench Joiner/ Furniture Maker to join their team and assist with the manufacturing of furniture items in our continuously growing new product ranges.The company is currently investing heavily in it’s core branding identity and future marketing strategies. This is to support new product development and continue strong company growth.The Role

  • Building solid wood furniture from our existing ranges, as well as all new product ranges ready to market.
  • Working from technical drawings (and cutting lists if needed).
  • Training workshop staff on how to build new products.
  • Working with our in-house designer on creating new product designs.
  • You will be required to operate various tools and machinery, most specifically:
  • Cross cut saw.
  • Panel saw.
  • Surface planer.
  • Band saw.
  • Spindle moulder - experience preferred but not essential as training can be provided.
  • Hand and power tools.

  • An enthusiastic and creative Bench Joiner/ Furniture Maker with a keen interest in learning and developing their skills within our company.
  • Have good self-management skills, while being able to work on their own and as part of a team.
  • Work well under pressure to meet targets and deadlines.
  • Have an excellent eye for detail.
  • Be confident and creative with good initiative.
  • Have good communication skills with a professional and friendly approach to colleagues and customers.
  • Be able to collaborate with pragmatic solutions, able to offer advice and opinions on new product ideas.
  • Be honest and reliable with a good working attitude.
  • Proven experience in Bench Joinery, most specifically furniture making.
  • Ideally have experience building bespoke furniture and working to technical drawings.
